I have always loved both art and science, so orthodontics is the perfect profession for me. I truly love what I do! I feel very blessed to be able to spend my day helping people improve their lives by giving them a healthy and beautiful smile. Each patient is different, and their journeys through orthodontic treatment are always somewhat unique. It is an exciting day for the patients when their braces are put on, but it’s an even bigger day when they come off. The enormous sense of accomplishment that is felt by the patients and parents on that special day is equally shared by me and my entire staff!
We have a very friendly and welcoming office for both children and adults. My professional and talented staff loves what they do and they enjoy working with patients of all ages. It is our goal to provide excellent orthodontic care in a professional, caring, and friendly environment. To schedule an appointment, request a time online or call my Greensboro or Eden offices.
Education and Continuing Education
I attended Grimsley High School, right here in Greensboro. I traveled to Chapel Hill, NC and graduated Phi Beta Kappa with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology with Highest Honors from the University of North Carolina. I completed dental school and received my Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) at UNC where I was a member of Omicron Kappa Upsilon Honor Society. We called Seattle home for two years while I attended The University of Washington Orthodontic Residency program where I earned my Master of Science degree in dentistry. (MSD)
I am a certified preferred Invisalign provider. I also attend continuing education courses on a regular basis so I can provide our patients with the most effective, efficient and up to date treatment possible.
Professional Memberships
I am an active member in several dental and orthodontic organizations including the American Association or Orthodontists, Southern Association of Orthodontists, North Carolina Association of Orthodontists, American Dental Association, North Carolina Dental Association, Guilford County Dental Society, and Rockingham Dental Society.
In the Community
I feel a genuine responsibility to give back to our community and I regularly support many local organizations and charities. Some of the larger organizations we have supported include the United Way, Triad Stage, the United Arts Council, the Children’s Museum, and Greenhill. In the past, I have been on the local Lung Association Board and served as president for one year. I also served on the board of the Greensboro Artists League and was a member of the Canterbury School Board of Trustees for 12 years.
Outside the Office
I am very happily married to my best friend Laura who also grew up here in Greensboro. We really enjoyed our time in Seattle during my Residency but are glad we returned home to start my practice and our family. We have a son, Christopher, and a daughter, Allyson, and are so very proud of both of them! Our two rescue boxers, Lucky and Nutmeg, are very much a part of our family. I like running and playing a round of golf when I get the chance. Laura and I also enjoy traveling and spending time with family and friends. Cooking is a favorite pastime of mine and I love to select the perfect bottle of wine to match with the meal. Once a year I enjoy a sailing adventure with a group of good buddies and as you might guess, I am the chef!
