What is Invisalign?
Instead of attaching metal brackers and wires to your teeth to guide them into their final places, Invisalign uses invisible, removable and comfortable aligners. Unless you tell someone you're wearing your Invisalign aligners, no one can tell you're seeing us for orthodontic treatment! We make your Invisalign aligners with sophisticated 3-D computer imaging technology to help us provide you with the most effective treatment we can.
How will my Invisalign treatment work?
You wear each set of aligners for about two weeks, and wear them around the clock, and only remove them only to eat, drink, brush and floss. As you progress to the next aligners in the series, your teeth will move little by little until they have moved to the final position Dr. Irvin has prescribed. You'll visit Dr. Irvin in Greensboro or Eden about once every six to eight weeks to ensure that your treatment is progressing as planned. On average, the total treatment time lasts 12 to 18 months and you'll wear between 18 and 30 aligners, but both will vary from case to case.
Why would I want Invisalign?
Why wouldn't you want Invisalign? Since the aligners are removable, brushing, flossing and eating during treatment is much less of a hassle. Invisalign aligners are also comfortable, with no metal to cause mouth abrasions during treatment. With our computer imaging technology, Dr. Irvin can easily show you your own virtual treatment plan when you start so you can see how your straight teeth will look when your treatment is complete.
